Wicked Temptress and Osiris - you owe me money

I'm really sorry I have to do this. I gave you enough chances and it's been MONTHS. You guys have been friends of mine for a long time and I've always been very friendly with both of you in ICQ and I am very, very hurt by your decision to try and get out of paying me back.

Here are the facts:

1. November 2003 I loaned WT and Osiris $200 to pay their electric bill that was going to get shut off. WT came to me in ICQ very upset that they didn't know what they were going to do and their electric bill was going to get shut off. She didn't ask me for money directly, but I offered to loan it to them and get them out of a jam because she is a friend. She accepted the money and offered to pay me back.

2. December 2003 WT offers me some hosted gallery designs from Osiris as a "thank you" for the loan - NOT as a payback. At first I decline them because I am a designer myself and I can just do them myself. However as I get busy with my schedule, I accept their offer and take the 6 galleries. This was NOT in lieu of payment, I even have ICQ logs that prove it.

3. February 2004 I tell WT that I am writing off their loan as a business expense since Osiris did do work for me (the galleries) and if I need an invoice I will come to them. This again was NOT instead of repayment, I just figure it is the least they can do for me since it's been 3 months and no re-payment. And no mention of re-payment either.

4. March 1st 2004. The twisting of words begins. I ask WT when I can expect payment. She says first that I said back in December "don't worry about it" and she thinks that I meant "don't worry about paying back the loan". However it was in reference to the fact that my husband was pissed at me for loaning them the money in the first place. And I told her not to worry about him that I would take care of it. Then when she knows that excuse won't fly she says "oh I thought the invoice was in place of the galleries" and I tell her once again how it was not. Then I say that it seems to be a miscommunication and I am still expecting re-payment. Even if it is on April 1st, I will wait, but I do expect to be repaid as agreed. I would never forgive a $200 loan to someone that is not family.

Then she asks me to talk to Osiris about it instead. So I begin to talk to Osiris. Osris is pulling the "I thought the galleries were payback for the loan". I told him that I have ICQ logs that prove that the galleries were not payback for the loan and then he says "well that conversation was with WT and not me and I did the work". So apparently even though they are married, they are two separate entities now. So fine, WT said that the galleries were a thank you, maybe Osiris should collect his money from her for them. In the meantime, I loaned the money to WT and I want payback. And since I loaned the money to her and not Osiris, I am going by her words.

The bottom line: I loaned you guys money when your family was about to be left out in the cold with no electricity. I felt bad for you, and I have been your friend for a long time. The fact that you're trying to get out of paying me back by grasping at every straw you can get ahold of is VERY VERY hurtful. I have never felt so betrayed and it's not even about the money anymore. It's about your word that means NOTHING.

Fine, you thought I said you didn't have to pay me back for one excuse or another......well I didn't, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt saying that it was a miscommunication. As a friend and as someone that loaned you money when you were desperate, you should feel obligated to pay me back. Ethically and morally it is the right thing to do. If you don't have the money right now, fine I'll wait for it! But don't blow me off for months and then try and get out of it. You've both just shown me what character you really have and it seriously hurts.

When I loaned you the money, you only needed something like $180.00 and I gave you an even $200.00 and said "take those beautiful kids out to McDonalds with the rest". And this is how you repay me??

Shame on you both. And shame on me for loaning friends money. This is how it always turns out.
