Oh great... The US of A is heading to China
Taiwan is an ally to the States. Taiwan is under the threat of military action from China to prevent the independence of Taiwan. Ok. So it is understandable that we would make a military presence to warn China not to strike against Taiwan.
But, we are not just making our presence known and simply sending a message. We need to send 7 aircraft carrier strike groups. This is the first time in our Naval history that we are sending 7 of the 12 of this particular class to one region. Then the US says that we are testing out a new Fleet Response Plan.
Kind of makes you wonder why so many ships are being dispatched to China. Is China capable of putting up a good fight? Apparently their military technology has improved greatly over the years. Before, we sent a few ships here and there to keep China at bay. That seemed to work. Now all of a sudden, we need to send a record number of ships and tell everyone we are testing a new Fleet Response Plan. Just makes you wonder how much China actually has advanced.
We haven't even cleaned up the mess from the Middle East yet. Now, we are flexing our muscles with China. If we get into a battle with China, that means more of our troops will be occupying yet another country.
How thin can the US spread itself before we become really vulnerable at home? How much money can we keep investing in yet another military action before our economy see's a boost or really goes to shit?
Guaranteed, we are supposed to support Taiwan, but is it really necessary to flex our muscles this much or is Taiwan justification for something bigger?
