Post your favorite movie (well one of them atleast)
Looking for movies to watch when I'm bored..
As I said - doesn't have to be THE best - just from the top 10
Mine is "Cinema Paradiso"

Whatever you do...DON'T watch "one hour photo" I watched it this afternoon and what a drag! I was so disapointed...Robin Williams is one of my favorite actors, but this was just bad!
Minority Report was a hit as far as I'm concerned or Austin Powers Gold member if you like a good comedy!

That's exactly what I would have said - excellent pick. Another faithful standby for me for pure entertainment is The Devil's Advocate.

The Warriors
- Greatest cult movie EVER.
Rio Bravo

Bridge on the River Kwai
- one of the greatest war movies ever made.
The Game

I know only the original version of Das Boot so it's German... It's long and the beginning is quite boring... but I think it's really a good movie!

Capribex: Is no.3 with english subtitles?
Kris/wsjb78: What is Das Boot??
XXXPhoto: Lots of movise I never saw.. interesting..
Im a fool for "quality" pictures to tell you the truth. I like action/comedy as well but the ones I remeber are those that "want to say" something..
Ocassionally there is a good movie coming from Hollywood that saves them (imho)
For example:
The big Kahuna. Great movie
Usual suspect
American beauty
Fisher king
(Freakish as it sounds, three of them happen to have one actor in common but its an accident cause in atleast one of them he is not the main reason for the movie being good)

Agree... Most of the selections on that list are old b/w movies dealing with dialogue and a real story... No car chases, special effects, or blazing gun battles really... just developed plot that's engaging and extertaining...
A more recent movie of this type is called "Closetland" and stars Alan Rickman ( Die Hard villian and Sheriff in Robin Hood movies) Definate mind-fuck type of movie if you enjoy that sort of mental entertainment... ;^Ð

Actually
12 Angry Men - Seen it. Both the original and the new version. Both amazing. I mistakenly remembered a different name till I though about it again. I though it was named "the Jury" or something..
Witness for the Prosecution - Think I saw. not sure. Its agatha christy - right?
Casablanca - Classic though I found it somewhat boring. I think I skipped in the middle.
Cain Mutiny - Don't know what it is. Counld'nt find a movie by that name. Do you mean "Citizen Kane"??
Cool Hand Luke - Dont think I've seen.
The Good, Bad, Ugly - Classic. Saw several times
Heat of the Night - Didn't see
Stalag 17 - Didn't see as far as I can remember
King Rat - Didn't see
Raisin in the Sun - Didn't see
The cain one reminded me or Citizen Kane - which is amazing.
Also reminded me of - Great dictator and Dr Strangelove(or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb) muhaha
Also - Rear window - which is most probably the best directing by hitchcock.
Name of the rose is also very good.
But from the above I think only 12 angry man fits in my top-10. rear-window might be if I make a top-10 of directing and Citizen Kane makes it to the top-10 for acting.

Das Boot (probably english title would be The Boat or The U-Boat) is a German Anti-War film based on the story of U96. I rather think it's a good movie however the beginning is somewhat slow.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is very good, thought provoking. If you can get the director's commentary it is even better (have to watch it twice though! once normally, once with the commentary)
