Is it weird to be Canadian and NOT like Hockey????
I know I don't post that often but speaking with Chris - I thought this would be a the perfect place to post this. I played to Midget - and some junior hockey - watched it religiously when I was involved - but ever since I hung up the skates - my interst in it has just disappeared. And here in Toronto - EVERYONE talks hockey ALL the time - and I get the weirdest looks when I say I don't like hockey. Is it me???????

I think it might be normal. NOT!

Well, I have gone through periods where I wasn't as interested because of other things going on in my life, and then I will get the bug and have my head in the stats almost every day.

Wow that is rare! I thought all Canadian males liked hockey. I thought it was something passed down in the Canadian male y chromosome.

lol, I guess I'm rare then because I've lived in Canada my entire life and could never get into hockey. I don't hate the sport it just never interested me is all. I don't think I've ever sat through an entire game and I hope I never have to either
also, TheLegacy, I grew up not far from you so I understand what you mean about all the hype about hockey

I saw a few live games and loved it. I don't know all the rules and what is really truly going on, but I love the excitement of a live game. The first time I sat down rink side and the guys slammed each other into the plexiglass, I was hooked. It's like a high testosterone game with all the fighting and slamming that occurs. Without that, it's just a bunch of guys skating around trying to get a puck into a net. Guaranteed, it takes skill, but I like the roughness. lol!
As for TV, I can't stand to watch it. lol! Doesn't interest me at all to watch a game on TV.

My actual hometown is Kitchener - and I am of a small breed of people left who remember the Leafs actually winning a Stanley Cup. I sort of lost all hope over the years and watch them in the playoffs, but I have gotten good at being able to judge right off the bat by their play if they have even a chance to make it into the final 4 teams
