Telus drops Wireless porn

Telus Corp. said Wednesday it will stop offering adult content on its wireless network.

The Vancouver company announced the move after enduring weeks of criticism from customers, shareholders and the Roman Catholic Church in Western Canada.

The service, which began in January, offered partial or full nudity in photos and videos for $3 to $4 each. The company was the first wireless provider in Canada to offer the service.

They likely already regret it, but the big picture is that they were losing subscribers because of it.
Maybe other providers will follow suit.

Hopefully someone else'll profit, and Telus'll kick themselves. Between this and the SnowGathering, I'm not sure how I feel about this trend of people caving to complaints. Bas precedents being set here.

I'mn really sick and tired of all these jesus lovin' virgins ... THis is the 21st century wtf? people are supposed ot be more accepting of others choices ... seems like bush has a reach in Western Canada .. let's hope the east is much more horny

It's an understatement to say we at 2much Internet Services felt dismay and disappointment upon hearing this week's decision by Canadian cellular provider Telus to drop adult content. Telus was the first major North American mobile service to offer adult content in the form of images and short video clips, and we were optimistic this would be the event that finally pushed adult onto the mobile networks in a big way.
