Addicted To Home Improvement Shows
Is anyone else addicted to these home improvement and design type shows?
I find myself almost always watching shows like This Old House, Surprised By Design, While You Were Out, Trading Spaces, Monster House, etc.
On Saturdays that's almost all I watch. Even though some of the designs are hideous, it's fun to watch these ideas come to life.
Also, I think the host of Surprised By Design would make a very nice future ex-Mrs. SykkBoy....or at least do a private photoshoot with me.

You've become such a pussy Sykk,
What would young Sykk think of what you've become ;p
also, monster house is such a cheap way of trying to profit from Monster Garage's success. The "lead guy" has zero personality where Jesse James is the show in itself.

I know the feeling, I was addicted to them too! I used to love when someone hated what was done to they house and threw a fit or cried! Those shows give great little home improvement tips that can really make a difference in the décor for very little investment!

I know...it's a tough addiction to admit to..
oh, fuck, I realized I goofed...it's the babe on While You Were Out I want to impregnate, not the one on Surprise By Design (what's with the dude on thatb show, he always had sunglasses on, but never wears them over his eyes?)

My wife(Spudnik) and I waste many a saturday afternoon watching trading spaces/while you were out. Last year she went to the Island Gathering and I couldn't make it. While she was out, I remodeled our bedroom. I was on my own so the remodeling was basically a new paint scheme and buying some new lamps but it really changed the look of the room. Needless to say she was quite surprised when she got home.

I'm not much of a handy-man myself, I don't know about the rest of you. When I split my basement in two last year to create an office for myself, I hired some guys to do the gyp-rock and put up a wall, but I did the rest.

I love cooking shows and home improvement shows....
Some of the designs I see are so horrendous, I fail to understand how they can call themselves designers..and they totally ignore the homeowner, like that time the owner said not to touch the fireplace..and the designer threw a hissy and covered it up...he wanted to paint this gorgeous fireplace white....oh, the agony!
Just this week, I started watching Queer Eye for the Straight Guy...a sort of guy improvement show...it's hilarious..

I remember that well
I guess I'm too much of a control freak to ever let ANYONE touch my home, without me being there...

Saturday nights or sunday afternoons, Trading Spaces and While you were out! I watch to see the designs, to see the faces of the people when they see their rooms and because WTF else is on during those times!
We plan to buy a house in the next year, I want to be prepared, and make it a dream home decorated and tweaked out just right!!

Love those shows! Let's not forget DIY Woodworking, In The Workshop, Warehouse Warriors, and Extreme Homes (not a home improvement show but cool nonetheless)>

I can't watch any of them. Of course, when you live in a 100-year-old "work in progress", watching them can give you idea overload.

I don't need to watch those shows. I live in a reality based home improvement, trading spaces, monster this or that, house. I live with a major handy man type guy. There isn't anything in this place, except for me and the dog, that has not been modified from time to time. Sooner or later, I expect to see Craftsman, Ryobi, Central Neumatic, Wagner, Stanley, Skil, DeWalt..., representatives coming to ask him to be a tester for all their power tool equipment and accessories.
I know he watches those shows and laughs his butt off sometimes. Sometimes he watches them just so he knows what not to do.

I watch monstor garage, house, and american choppers regularly. I think Monstor House sucks usually, the host is lame. But the recent show was pretty funny with the guy walking the house with a sleeping back looking for a place to sleep...lol.
I see they are coming out with a new show, something like American Choppers but on hot rods. Looks like it'll be good.
Off subject but this weekend I was watching Boy Meets Grill on the food channel, that dude can COOK! Made us have a BBQ Sunday afternoon. Anyone else watch that show?
