Default Advertising ???

Hi everyone. i'm not sure if ya'll heard (or saw) but I am being sent away. The Air Force has new plans for me and unfortunately my family can't join me. I am trying to sell my site, and I am sure I won't get my money back. The site is new and has zero members (I haven't had a whole lot of time to advertise it).

I'm not asking anyone to buy it, although it would be nice. I was now wondering what you guys think of an advertising plan I have, and what you think it's worth.

I am an avid motorcycle rider, basically racing and street riding. I need more money to support my wife and kids here in Las Vegas while I move away for the next few years. I can't afford 2 places to live right now, so I was thinking about advertising on my bike. My plan is to sell sections of the bike for a month at a time, and like the tail section would be a certain price, the sides (both) could be a different price and the windscreen another price. I am totally open to advertising adult sites obviously, and it will be full color vinyl or airbrushing. Any ideas? Anyone interested? The bike will be driven all throughout the state of Texas and on military bases as well.

Thoughts or comments?

-Brett

I don't think you'll find any adult oriented company will go for this.

I think it's important to mention where your bike willbe viewed and by approx how many people ..
Maybe list the events your bike will appear in ...

Just my 2 cents

My problem is I am not a computer guy, and getting a quality program such as Dreamweaver is kinda pricey, especially if I don't know what I'm doing. i would love to keep the site and build it, but being in the location I am going, I won't have access to full internet (military limited) so I won't be able to keep it going. I would consider having someone build it up while I'm gone, and split the profits 70/30 (I would take the 30% and give 70% to the worker bee). The only problem with that would be it is under my name and if something illegal goes on I don't want to be at fault.

The country I am being sent to is in the Middle East and it is for at least a year (possibly) and the is NO PORN allowed in that country. Any ideas, I would be happy to arrange something.

Are there places that will run sites for people? I would actually consider this before sell, it makes more sense. The initial pain is already done, it just needs content updates and someone to make the TGP submissions or set up affiliates. It already has CCBill installed and is 100% secure. If anyone knows of someone interested, or maybe a company that does this, I would appreciate it.

Selling ads on your bike will be a waste of time.

Why do you need "two places to live" - one for your family and one for you? Doesn't the Air Force supply you with housing when you are deployed?

Why not put the site in another program, someone who does marketing?

maybe I'm being silly here, but is there a reason your wife can't take over the management of your site and learn to market it?

I agree with theLegacy that the site can build while you're deployed. You've worked to get it to this point so why abandon it now?

Not deploying, being re-assigned. My step-daughter isn't allowed to be taken from the state, per court order (ex husband fought hard), so when I leave, my wife son and step-daughter will stay here in Vegas until I return. It sux, I only get paid enough for one place to live, and it isn't even enough to cover the house I live in now.

It isn't at any point. It is built, but I don't have the time or money right now to buy content and keep it stocked, and then there's the fact that I obviously suck at getting traffic to the site. My wife works a full time 12 hour a day job, plus has to take care of the kids, the site would just be dragging us down every month, further into debt. I would love to be able to keep it and have it build, but I don't know much about building the TGP submission pages and I have NO idea how else to market it except for flat out paying for advertising somewhere, which takes a lot of money. Not sure how much content should actually BE on a paysite, since I have never really been a subscriber, but I am sure I don't have enough to keep interest. I don't know what to do at this point. I have the site, but it remains a burden at this time.

well are you talking about updating the site? is that it?

you do have CMS programs (content management systems) where even if you can get on for a short time - just show your wife how to do it, not too mention the content can be easily loaded up.

how long are you gone for?

this actually may be a good idea for xnations to take on a website in the newbie area - here moderators and the like can share in training first hand in showing how a site should be built and run. Be the first time ever that a webmaster board actually had its own members share on a site - the profits obviously go to a fund for your wife and kids so that when you come back - they will have something.

anyone else like this idea?

It looks like I'll be gone for about 4 years. I would go for the board owning it, as long as I can keep 30%, then use the other profits for a site activity, like a picnic or trip to Vegas for everyone.

You guys are great people, I'm glad I found you. Rob, you are a great help, I didn't know there were NICE people in Porn.

Let's say $100 per month for each main side. This is what the bike looks like...

I'd need a graphic so I can find out how much a vinyl overlay would cost, but I'm sure it isn't much.

Action word is "Right price."
And I'd be interested in media attention. Some kind of a "Goodness, can you believe what these adult coimpanies are doing now to advertise?" Get that bumped up to fox news outrage, and I'm wetting my pants.

That would probably cost extra, since I'd probably lose my job in the military, but... maybe that's not a bad idea.

I run my bike at both the drag strip AND the roadrace course, so a lot of people see my bike, plus I am a member of the local riding group.

Hmmm, something to give serious thought to then.
