Why are so many Foreigners interested in the British Royal Wedding?

Of course it was nice. I myself did not watch it live, I had enough watching the summaries in the news later that day
But I was amazed how many people worldwide where watching it live

Probably because the British Commonwealth is far and wide.

I watched some of it live. It was on while I did other things.

I watched some live on TV, media really good at hype.
IMO, it may contribute to UK economy, international status of the British Commonwealth, Royal glory, and youth worship, etc.
