What should the legal age be for explicit nudity?
The legal age in Canada and the U.S. for explicit nudity is 18.
The legal age in Holland is 16.
What's your opinion. Which country is right and which country is wrong? If none of these countries are right, what should the legal age be?

One thing you have to learn is that there is no right and no wrong... it's all socially imposed in your thoughts of what you consider right and wrong...
Legal age for sexual explicit material is 16... however consent from the parents is needed... however the legal age to view porn is 18... in fact this means you could be actor in a porn movie at 16 but you're not allowed to watch it before you turn 18... where's the logic?

I know that at 16 I certainly wasn't mature enough to make a decision that may afftect me for the rest of my life. (I have doubts about most 18 year olds too, lol) But then again, I don't believe that 16 year olds are mature enough to be in control of those potentially leathal weapons we call cars.....

That's hard to say, some people are mature enough at 16 and others aren't mature enough at 21. Picking an age is just arbitrary. In my opinion the actual age isn't particularly important, but being consistant is.
Why are there different ages for voting, driving, drinking, marrying, signing contracts, etc.? I say pick an age, and prior to that you're a "kid" with all the protections that come with that title and after that you're an "adult" with all responsibilities and freedoms that come with it.

I agree with having the same age for all of these EXCEPT, drinking and driving.
In Manitoba, the legal age to drink is 18 and the new graduated licenses make 18 the day you are legally allowed to drive alone for the first time. Nothing like celebrating your first day of driving by having a few beers with your buddies.
The driving age used to be 16. This at least gave most kids a little time and experience behind the wheel before they had the "legal" opportunity to mix the two.
To me this is a recipe for disaster. Thankfully, most of our kids are smarter than we are.

Until about 5 years ago there was no legal drinking age here in Switzerland... anyone could by any alcoholica the wished for.... however driving licences was and still is at 18...
However when you turn 18 you may not (yet) drive alone... you first have to get your licence which normally takes at least 3 months to get!

I think for obvious reason's that 16 is too young. The most obvious being that they are not responsible enough to make a decision that could possibly affect the rest of their lives. With that being said, I think that 18 is young as well.
21 seems to be an age where one would hope you are mature enough to make an informed decision on something that is going to remain with you forever.

18 to drive
21 to drink
18 to view porn legally.

I think 18 is an appropriate age, although I find the difference between 16 and 18 year olds to be marginal at best. Almost any age above 15 that you pick is going to be arbitrary, since my experience indicates a model will be an MILF before they are "mature" enough to make a lot of decisions.

I have never believed 18 year olds were mature enough to consider their future when it comes to displaying themselves in sexual situations. They are too easily swayed. I've always believed 21 should be the minimum age to be a "sex worker".
Drinking age: 0 (teach them young to respect alcohol)
Driving age: 16 (about right to learn responsibility)
Fucking for money: 21 (with some life experience behind them)

Definetly not 16, I'm from The Netherlands and think it's a pretty fucked up law...how can a 16 year old know what they want? They have totally no experience in life...
I think 18 is a good age...

18 is fine, but 16 for NL and DK is not rigth - even if the kids are younger it will be not illegal at all - but this is another discussion
The only thing the officials have to think about, if it's allowed to watch porn not before 18, why the hell every teenage with 16 as regular sex? and why there are so many girls below 18 with babies?

As far as I know you must be 16 to view porn in the Netherlands, not quite sure though...

Age is irrelevant. I know some 40yr olds who shouldn't be allowed to drink, drive, or have sex.. LOL
But, what about this... how old does a person have to be to buy a book of erotic stories in a bookstore? or a book on sexuality?
