It's peach season
I found this page to be quite interesting.
http://www.tonytantillo.com/fruits/peaches.html
I never knew there were so many varieties of peach.
Plus, there are a couple of good ideas for serving them on that page too.

When I was kid, we had an orchard nearby that had a nice selection of peaches, apples, cherries, and pears. We were always raiding the orchard.

Reminds me of a local estate where I grew up that had pear trees. A few of us used to take some once in awhile. But not too many.
I'm patiently waiting for this season's peaches to arrive at my local grocer.

Growing up around the Amish and Mennonite farms, we always had fresh fruits and veggies. Most of the farmers had little road side stands or we would go down to the open air markets. Then, one of the Amish farms expanded and turned the little road side stand into a farm market. On the off seasons were the only time we bought fruits and veggies in the grocery store, but they are just not the same.

Yesterday I picked up half a dozen Redtops. They aren't quite ripe yet, so I have them in a brown paper bag for a couple of days.
I also picked up 2 Summer Whites. I only got 2 because I've never tried them before. They will be ripe by tomorrow.
One thing I have learned about peaches is how to test them for ripeness. If you let them ripen, their taste improves like 100% at least.
