newbie alert
Hi, everyone.
I've been posting at Cozy Campus for a couple of weeks and found this forum somewhere along the way.
This seems like a great forum and I really like the diversity of members here.
Plus, this forum seems much bigger so there should be enough reading material even for me.

Hello, shade, and welcome!
XNations is a great forum. Would you like to tell us all a little about yourself?

Ah.......yes, ma'am.
(Actually, my name is Morgan, also.)
I had been giving thought to starting some kind of business online and considered getting into the adult webmaster arena.
Some of the veterans at Cozy Campus made it clear this is not a business for the faint of heart or the lazy, lol, and also that this is not the business for fast money.
Nevertheless, I am determined to try my hand.
I have found a host and registered a domain and I am working on my first website.

Thank you, Stacey.
One of the draws of this forum is the great people here. While I am new at this business I'm not new to forums.
This place has a lot of positive energy and truly kind and thoughtful members. As well as really funny characters, lol.
My main reason for coming here, though, is knowledge. I have a passion for learning and bettering myself.

A board can never have too many "Morgans,' that's my stand on the issue.
I'm very glad to hear you speak of "learning," as well as your understanding that this business requires a lot of work...and there won't be fast, easy money. In fact, you'll have days when being a greeter at WalMart will begin to look very appealing.
You have to be very selective about the people to whom you address your questions...but having said that, one of the best things a novice can do is ASK QUESTIONS. If you're like most novices, you're probably in the process of building yourself a pretty little website that has way too much free content. You're going to ask someone like me to look at it, and the someone like me is going to have to say...uh...no, dear, this is not at all what you should be doing.
However, that will prevent you from being someone who works his tail off and earns absolutely no money.
Thank you so much for your pm. I'll get going on the tutorial soon. (I'm furiously multitasking and my brain is fudge.)
You can make money in this business. How much you can make depends on too many variables to list here. But don't give up.

Tp pf69.com and Gruntled, thank you for the kind words.
Tp Morgan, if I read another thread correctly, you either just moved or are moving so I'm sure you don't have a lot of extra time.
I wasn't pushing you, lol, but your freesite tutorial is just the kind of thing I like to read - straight up and spoken from real life experience.
I haven't put anything up yet (other than practice) as I know I would change it 50 times in the first 72 hours after I put it up.
In other words, I know I'm not ready yet. Which is cool, I have a lot to learn and I enjoy learning.
I've been reading industry forums and trying to pick others' sites apart and see what works and what doesn't.
And asking questions.

shade...I am in the process of moving. Escrow is due to close on the 27th. At the moment, I'm sorting and packing, sorting and packing, hurting myself moving things, and worrying.
Last night brought good news. Our realtor sat down with the seller and the idiot real estate agent they got stuck with and got a lot of papers signed. The "fix it up" guy is there now, thanks to our realtor, and things are moving along nicely.
My husband feels safe enough now to give notice at this place. We'd put it off until we were absolutely sure the sale was going to go through.
My husband will even hit the last day of the silk flower sale at a nice shop so that I can fill up my vases and decorate my new home! (We have four cats and they eat the real flowers. Occasionally, they eat the silk ones, too, silly creatures that they are.) I'm even getting a little silk ficus tree for the living room. I can't wait to see how the cats react to *that.*

Thanks, Visualad.
Yes, Morgan, I felt at home here even before my first post.
I think it's the women dominating (lol) the forum, I get along great with women.
I'm a dude, in case anyone was wondering.
Don't let the chick avatar and girlie name fool ya.
edit - Hi, Panky! You run a great forum here.

Just read the 'How old are YOU and how old are the ones you date?' thread.
First, I'm bitterly disappointed that Seska is married.
Second, I'm almost 39 and my last g/f was 34 but I really don't care about age.

It's funny, but when I first began posting back in '97, a lot of people assumed I was male.

Grayson sounds masculine.
Morgan is an interesting name and I wouldn't change it for the world - it fits me too well.
You've been doing this since '97?
Wow.
I have a lot of catching up to do.

I found out through some embarrassed admissions (and some not-so-embarrassed) that the reason some thought I was male was because I was intelligent and opinionated, and not hesitant to share my opinions.
The ambisexual name worked well for me when I wrote gay erotic stories, though.
