Back in the 60s and 70s way before Weird Al, there was Dickie Goodman.
I remember several of his recordings when I was a kid, notably "Mr Jaws" but there were a lot of others too.
I vaguely remember some of his stuff being played on Dr Demento when I was a kid way back in the mid-80s. He was using clips of stuff doing interviews and shit.
His stuff was really funny. I thought about it some more after my post and even recall the show itself started doing a ripoff version of its own. They did a Bruce Springsteen interview with the song clips.
