Kenny... I did the LA to Vegas drive back in January but I did it at night. That doesn't mean it wasn't interesting though. When you cross the state line it's like you're coming into a space station with the two border casinos, and then about 10 miles out of Vegas you start to see weird lights on the horizon.
I did the drive from Vegas to Phoenix several years ago and it was very cool. If you can, stop for the night at the Grand Canyon. It's time well spent!
