Stephen Donaldson was a student in 1973, when he joined a protest against the Vietnam War. As the protest, outside the White House, gathered momentum, Donaldson was dragged from the crowd by police, driven to the County Jail and placed on remand pending a possible charge of trespass. There, the sadistic corrections officer threw the long-haired pacifist to the wolves. In those two days in the cells, Donaldson was anally and orally gang-raped more than 60 times. On release he founded the Stop Prisoner Rape pressure group. In 1996 he died of AIDS.
