Personally I like hosting with someone that is in the same city. It just makes things a LOT easier sometimes. Possibly we could get a lower bandwidth rate somewhere but I doubt it would be worth it. We use
http://www.netelligent.ca right here in Montreal. Great peering, reliable burstable bandwidth, excellent uptime and they gave us a great deal.
