Definitely not good at all. I just can't imagine what that would be like to go through. The hurricane is only the beginning. People are going to need help long after the winds and rain have stopped.

I've seen the pictures too. There is going to be one hell of a major mess to clean up. What about all the mud and God knows what that got dredged up from the Gulf and river bottoms and creeks, the dead fish and other animals, and then all the water and sewage yet? I can't imagine how many tons of that stuff will be left to clean up. Then it's a matter of rebuilding, fixing, and replacing buildings and other misc. stuff.
It's so sad but kind of fascinating at the same time. The power of "Mother Nature" is incredible.

New Orleans shelters to be evacuated
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CNN) -- New Orleans resembled a war zone more than a modern American metropolis Tuesday, as Gulf Coast communities struggled to deal with the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Deteriorating conditions in New Orleans will force authorities to evacuate the thousands of people at city shelters, including the Louisiana Superdome, where a policeman told CNN unrest was escalating.
