Girl next door basically means "real". Pretty but not artificially so. And it also means approachable I would say. The average guy might think the supermodel type is beautiful but he has a hard time believing he would ever have a chance with her. That's why the "girl next door" type can be so popular. I think a lot of what makes a woman the girl next door is her personality. And she definitely doesn't have to be a "teen". So yeah... You're a "girl next door" Steph.

I always consider the "girl next door" to mean "above average looking - to very cute" and approx. 18-25 yrs. old. The type of girl you would see anywhere in public, quite possibly give a second glance to, but would never consider as a model. This is what I think adds the excitement and "reality" to the niche. Making models out of attractive non-model types and being surprised to see them take it off and more.
